Lk. 2-18-21
So how did i spend new years eve and the first? let's see--
walked 20 miles with matt and sam, hung out at home, and on polk with all the drunks, us being the sober ones, and slept all day on the first. hows that for a celebration?
"As for Mary, she treasured all these messages and continually pondered over them."
Mary was the first christian theology. She continually pondered what was happening in her everyday life in light of God's presence. She was the first process theologian. And like her we too are to ponder God's presence in our daily events. One cannot read the Bible without having a newspaper in the other hand. As we enter this new year the sheperds remind me that it is in the poor, the disenfranchisewd that Jesus is most present. Jesus walked into the reality of this world acknowledging his own sadness with the promise of his presence and the hope of the resurrection. and that is our calling for the new year--to hold the hope of the resurrection. Deo Gratis! Thanks be to God!
