CATHOLIC WORKER is a not-for-profit ministry
supported by the Workers
themselves, local churches, and concerned
individuals. All donations go to serve those
in need. "Overhead" costs (printing,
mailing, etc.) are kept to an absolute minimum
and, whenever possible,
underwritten by specific designated gifts.
Workers
provide for their own basic needs and give
the remainder of their income to the Worker
ministry for those we serve.
Father River Sims is an ordained priest
in the American Catholic Apostolic Tradition and a monk in the Order of
Christian Workers who lives and works in the Polk neighborhood
of San Francisco. He is a former sex worker
who holds a Masters of Divinity, an MA in
Community Health Education, and a certificate
in substance abuse counseling. He and his
work have been profiled in the San
Francisco Examiner, the Bay Guardian, San
Francisco Frontlines, and the Minneapolis
Star-Tribune.
On-going
needs
of our ministry include:
Financial
support
